Fray

It wasn't the bright sun,
It wasn't the rain.
Like a burst of magic all around

The world seemed noisy.
She smiled as always,
Not at his love songs,

Not at her kitten,
It must have been the life she had,
It must have been the people in it,

Or what she went through everyday.
She laughed as always,
Not at a joke,

Not at the broken fences,
It must have been the crack on the ceiling,
It must have been the torn sweater she wore,

Or the secrets she kept.
It wasn't the love all around her,
It wasn't the pain eating deep,

Like a burst of anger,
She picked up a knife Crimson all over her now,
The world seemed silent.
