This dad doesn’t get mad, he gets even on Instagram.
“My daughter’s been posting selfies of herself. Instead of telling her to stop, I thought of this,” Chris (Burr) Martin from Spokane, Washington wrote beneath his original post in April: A snap of himself duplicating daughter Cassie’s duck face on the couch.
The “Selfie Dad” told KHQ Local News that he asked Cassie to “tone it down a little bit, and she wouldn’t,”so he upped the ante on his online antics. The mischievous comedian moved on to his kid’s more provocative pix, such as the one where she flashes her (hopefully temporary) midriff tattoo in a crop top. Martin brazenly squeezes his beer belly into a tiny tee, too, and traces his daughter’s tat with eyeliner.
Martin seemed especially proud about that one, posting it on Instagram with the hashtags #nailedit and #baddad.
And that snap certainly caught Cassie’s eye, as she retweeted it with “MY FATHER HARASSES ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA.”
Martin has also started targeting his son, wishing him a happy birthday on Monday by mimicking the boy’s white sunglasses and red t-shirt, and flashing what looks like a “V” for victory sign.
The kids have inherited their father’s a sense of humor about the selfie feud. Cassie told KHQ that, “I take it out of pure fun,” and that her dad is “cracking me up.”
And like any teen, Cassie has been enjoying the attention she’s getting since her dad’s posts have gone viral. She pinned one of her father’s parody posts to the top of her Twitter feed, and she made a shot of KHQ news discussing the father-daughter duo on the air as her Twitter header photo.
Alas, Martin’s ingenius idea hasn’t been a complete success. Cassie has toned it down “a little bit,” but she’s still taking selfies and snapchatting with reckless abandon. We’ve reached out to the family for comment, but in the meantime, we can’t wait to see what shots they fire next.
We like the Dad's version better.
