Six Suspects Arrested For The Murder Of Preacher In Abuja

Narrating how He got the news, husband of the deceased Pastor Elisha Olawale said:
"Two of my sons who are footballers went to the field to play. They just came back to tell me that they heard some footballers saying that they butchered a woman preaching the gospel early this morning. When they told me, I trekked down. When I got there, I didn't see anybody but I saw blood on the ground. I then asked a policeman about a woman who was butchered to death. He said yes its true and they have taken her to the police station. When we got to the police station, my wife was at the back of the pickup. They removed her head and two legs. We have taken her to the mortuary".
Mother of seven, Deaconess Eunice Olawale, was butchered by some unidentified persons while preaching in the morning at Gbazango community in Kubwa, Abuja in the early hours of July 9th.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has now arrested six suspects over her murder.
A statement released on Sunday by the spokesman of the FCT police command, ASP Anjuguri Manzah said FCT, Commissioner of Police (CP) Alkali Usman ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) to lead a discreet investigation into the murder of Mrs. Eunice Mojisola Wale.

According to him, the 40 year old woman was murdered by unknown persons in the early hours of Saturday at Bazango Pipeline area of Kubwa. Six suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder are in Police custody, currently undergoing interrogation and the outcome will be made public.

He also said the CP commiserates with the family members of the deceased over the unfortunate incident and assured them and other residents of the area of the commitment and determination of the Command to fish-out perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to justice. Contrary to reports from some sections of the media that the deceased’s head and leg was chopped-off, the Command stated that apart from marks of injury inflicted on some parts of her body, all parts of the deceased body are intact and the Police has taken custody of her remains for preservation and examination.
Manzah enjoined residents of Kubwa and the general public to remain calm and cooperate with police in the ongoing investigation.
